Certified Accounting Technician

The Olympia CAT module is designed to provide fundamental technical skills and knowledge of accounting in preparation towards becoming a professional ACCA accountant. The CAT programme comprises exams and practical experience according to internationally relevant syllabuses and the accepted use of the letters CAT.
Course Duration 1 ½ years (4 semesters) Intakes January, April, July & September Requirement SPM with 5 credits Grading & Assessment CAT relevant examinations Final award Upon completion of CAT examinations and one year of relevant experience, graduates can apply for the Certified Accounting Technician status and use the letters CAT after their name. They are also invited to join the CAT alumni. Awarding body The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK Course Modules To achieve CAT status, students need to complete a set of exams and one year practical experience in the workplace. PAPER 6 ) Drafting Financial StatementsHow to prepare year-end financial statements of partnerships and limited companies in compliance with legislation and accounting standards. How to interpret financial statements and the relationships between their elements using ratio analysis.

Learn how to handle the Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise, including knowledge of statutory timescales for submission of claims and returns and the due dates for payment of tax liabilities.
